Located only 30 miles west of Denver and 40 miles south of Winter Park, Clear Creek is an accessible river set in an old mining valley in the Colorado Rockies. This is the perfect spot for a quick one-day adventure, with a variety of beginner to advanced trips on offer. Longer one-day trips will run the full gamut of Class III-V whitewater, while easier beginner trips set out down the lower half, where water flows cool to a more kid-friendly Class II-III tempo. At its most raucous, Clear Creek drops an average of 67 feet per mile through steep canyon country, with possible sightings of iconic Rocky Mountain wildlife like deer, muskrat, bighorn sheep, and bears an added bonus.
