The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has frequently been called the Serengeti of North America. Immense herds of caribou share the tundra with grizzlies, musk oxen, wolves, dall sheep, foxes, water fowl, and raptors. The Hulahula starts high in the north slope of the Arctic Range and flows into the Arctic Ocean. A trip down this river offers a chance to experience one of the most pristineand fragileecosystems left on earth. Treasure it.
